Honoring Our Feelings

We are bombarded with messages to be kind, positive and grateful. What if we are not feeling that way? It is difficult to feel that way all the time. We are blessed with a myriad of emotions, but we may feel like we need to hide the "negative" emotions from others. It is hard to be vulnerable with others when you are feeling sadness, fear, or anxiety. Your friends and loved ones may prefer when you share your feelings of joy, love, and excitement because they do not want to be in that discomfort with you. It may be disappointing when they dismiss your feelings and tell you to be positive. All feelings are valid. I am comfortable supporting you in that space. Acknowledging the sadness and anxiety is giving yourself the gift of honoring all of you.
