2x the Confidence

What would you do if you had double the confidence?  Would you try out for the high school soccer team even though you have not played travel soccer?  Would you go to a chess club meeting even though you have no friends in the club?  Would you answer a question in class even if you do not know if it is the "right answer"?  Would you talk to a classmate at the start of class rather than hide in your phone?  What is the worst thing that would come from taking that risk?  You may not make the soccer team.  You may feel uncomfortable walking into the chess club meeting.  You may get the "wrong answer" in class.  You may feel that moment of vulnerability when talking to someone without looking at your phone.  You may experience dis - ease.  However, everyone has experienced some form of adversity.  We all have a story of a personal struggle that has led to internal strength.  Sometimes we avoid these risks because we are fearful of the potential discomfort.  It is possible that the first time you put yourself out there it will be extremely uncomfortable; however, how long will that feeling last?  If you are not ready to take the leap, that's okay.  You can still grapple with the question: what would I do if I had 2x the confidence?  Maybe even just asking yourself that question can help you rewrite the script of who you are.
