Parenting without Punishment
It is possible to parent without punishment. Punishments can bypass communication and can harm the relationship between the parent and child. When a child is punished, they often focus on being angry or hurt by the punishment rather than learning to make better decisions. I enjoy sharing skills that support parents in understanding the needs behind the child's behavior. When the child's needs are understood, parents can find creative ways to address those needs and avoid the pitfalls of punishment.
